Chelsea, Ginny and I are so excited to take you to one of our favorite local spots, Piper & Leaf Artisan Tea Co.
If you are a local to the Rocket City, chances are you own a blue handpainted mason jar that says Piper and Leaf {or if you have been a long time fan, it might say Samovar Gardens}. A family owned business, Piper & Leaf started out selling compost at the Farmer's Market and threw in some tea as an afterthought. A very well thought one at that, since tea was the only thing that sold at the market and the compost was left untouched. They quickly became a part of almost every local Farmer's Market and event around town which made Piper & Leaf a household name.
Not only can you catch them at the Farmer's Market, but you can now enjoy a delicious cup of tea in their oh-so-unique space at the Lowe Mill Arts Center (can the location be any more perfect?).
If you haven't been able to tell, I have been a HUGE fan of Piper & Leaf starting from it's Samovar Garden days. I was definitely one of those people who stood in line at the Greene Street Market just to get a jar full of my favorite (Front Porch Special) tea. Now can you just imagine my excitement when we walked in the shop and saw a new addition to their menu?
Handcrafted Tea & Coffee Latte Blends? Sold! I took the plunge and ordered an iced Old Fashioned Coffee Cake while Chelsea and Ginny enjoyed a jar of their favorites. A joyous combination of freshly brewed coffee, tea, and your choice of milk, this quickly became my new favorite drink!
"Serve the Joy"
Special thanks to Lydia and our friends at Piper & Leaf for letting us capture their art and allowing us to explore their space.
As always, don't forget to drop by Chelsea's blog for her take on our local adventure!
