A Matter of Style: No'Ala September Issue

I am the worst at keeping secrets, so this was a very difficult one for me to keep. A few months ago, the features editor of No'Ala Magazine reached out to inform me that I had been nominated for the September Style Issue. Now you can just imagine what came next. After picking my jaw back up from the floor, I started doing the happy dance.

The boys and I had a blast shooting with Sarah Brewer of Click Photo Designs. No'Ala gave us the freedom to pick a venue for the shoot, so I chose the most adorable little sweet shop in Mooresville, AL {Lyla's Little House}.

What would you never be caught dead in?
"I would never be caught dead in a tutu!" -Cameron , 5

What is your go-to accessory?
"Hair gel is my favorite accessory." - Carlos, 9

What style, or item of clothing is timeless to you?
"A basic black blazer -it is such a classic piece that exudes sophistication. You can pair it with a pair of tailored trousers and your classic button down for the office, or layer over your favorite white tee, boyfriend denim and slip on sneakers for a casual but sophisticated look. It really is a must have for everyone."

Dress: J.Crew (see other colors here) // Skirt: Anthropologie (old, similar here) // Shoes: Anthropologie (old, try these) // Belt Bag: Free People (also seen here)

What is one piece of clothing you couldn't go without? A Maxi Dress. It is so easy and effortless. When in doubt, wear a maxi out!
What would you never be caught dead in? Windpants. It must be the sound that it makes. Ha!
What is your go-to accessory? My white South Sea pearl earrings from my Mom. Wait, I guess they're actually my Mom's. She never really formally gave them to me, I just started wearing them and never gave them back. Ooops! Sorry Mom.
What decade or era of style do you wish would make a comeback in terms of clothing? 60's! From the fabrics, the silhouette to the feeling. The women just look so effortlessly glam in the clothes that they are in.
What are 3 things in your closet you could never get rid of? This is going to sound so random... 1. My first ever Louis Vuitton. It was a present from one of my Godfather's 15 years ago. Needless to say it is very well loved. 2. My turquoise and tan cowboy boots. It's one of those ones that has a really pointy toe too! Ha! I retired them 6 years ago and they have been living in the closet under the stairs (where my first LV is too). I wore them to an interview 7 years ago for my current job (which I LOVE), and the manager who hired me told me that it was those boots that made her remember me (surely in a good way, right?). So how can I get rid of them? 3. My Imogene + Willie Elizabeth Stretch in Indigo Hands down BEST pair of denim I've ever owned. This will definitely be with me for years and years to come.
